Design and Performance Test of the Coffee Bean Classifier

Currently, some coffee production centers still perform classification manually, which requires a very long time, lot of labor, and expensive operational costs. Therefore, the purpose this research was to design test performance bean classifier that can accelerate process classifying beans. The used consisted three main parts, namely frame, driving force, sieves. parameters included work capacity, power, specific energy, distribution effectiveness, efficiency. results showed best operating conditions rotational speed 91.07 rpm 16° sieve angle with working capacity 38.27 kg/h: seeds retained in first 56.77%, second 28.12%, third 15.11%. efficiency using found at rotating 16°. This simple design, easy operate, sort beans into classifications, small, medium, large.
